The AK7 alloy

Designation

Name The value
Designation GOST Cyrillic АК7
Designation GOST Latin AK7
Transliteration AK7
By chemical elements -

Description

The AK7 alloy used: for the manufacture of various ingots and shaped castings by various casting methods (sand casting, investment casting, gravity die casting, pressure); casting of parts of metallurgical equipment.

Note

Aluminum foundry alloy of the system Al-Si-Mg.
Heat-treatable alloy with good strength properties, but with reduced toughness and corrosion resistance.
Technological characteristics of the alloy close to alloy grade Ak7ch.

Al is the base.
According to GOST 1583-93, the iron content is specified for casting in sand molds and for investment models. The iron content for molding in the mold is ≤ 1.20%, when casting under pressure ≤ 1.30%. The amount of impurities accounted for should be for casting in sand molds and for investment models ≤ 3.10%, casting in chill molds ≤ 3.20%, injection molding ≤ 3.30%.
According to KSt 81-033: 2009, the total content of Zr + Ni ≤ 0.15%.
