Technological properties

Name The value
Weldability Alloy weld TIG welding using a filler material wire SV-04ХН40МДТЮ. However, a welded joint without the formation of hot cracks can be obtained when the thickness of the welded elements up to 6 mm. Better resistance against the formation of hot cracks in the HAZ of the alloy has after pre-treatment according to the scheme: deformation + low temperature aging (at +650 °C). Contact seam welding in thicknesses of 0.16-0.26 mm with alloys ХН40МДТЮ and ХН28МДТ (ЭП943), as well as to steel type 18CR10NITI provides high-quality weld high vacuum density.
Pressure treatment The pressure treatment is performed at a 1160-950 °C. If the aging is carried out immediately after hot plastic deformation, the temperature of the end of deformation should be below the recrystallization temperature of the alloy, i.e. below 920 °C.
Features of heat treatment Softening heat treatment is quenched from 1050-1100 °C in water or air. Depending on the required level of strength recommended by the following modes: 1) Hot plastic deformation + Aging at 600-650 °C (maintained for 5 h), air cooling; 2) Quenching in air, 1050-1100 °C (extract of 1.5-2.0 h) + Aging at 650-750 °C (extract 5-10 h), air cooling.
Corrosion resistance The alloy has high corrosion resistance in solutions of sulfuric and phosphoric acids, in gas condensate environments containing elevated levels of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. Alloy (regardless of the mode of heat treatment and deformation) has a high resistance against General corrosion in solutions of sulfuric acid concentration to 60 % at temperatures up to +80 °C, while the minimum resistance of 0.15-0.20 mm/year corresponds to the concentration of sulfuric acid 20-30 %. In solutions of phosphoric acid at a concentration of 70% and temperatures up to +80 °C the corrosion rate of the alloy is not greater than 0.05 mm/year. The alloy can be used in a polyphosphoric acid concentration of 110-115 % at elevated temperature (corrosion rate at +135 °C in the gas phase is less than 0,0007 mm/year; liquid - 0.15 mm/year); 10 % hydrofluoric acid at 70 °C the corrosion rate of 0.11 mm/year. The alloy used for equipment of gas condensate fields with the content in natural gas of hydrogen sulphide up to 6% and carbon dioxide to 6 %. The corrosion rate of alloy in the distillate, saturated with hydrogen sulfide at temperatures up to +70 °C and pressures up to 1.7 N/mm2 not more than 0.0003 mm/year. The alloy is not prone to stress corrosion cracking in boiling 42 % magnesium chloride solution at voltages equal to 0,75 and 1,2 σт; 0,92 σв and technological solutions of the oxygen compounds of chlorine containing 200 g/l NaCl + oxidizer at +90 °C.
