Description

09KH16N4B steel is used: for the manufacture of pipes of superheaters and pipelines installations of ultra-high pressure sheet, high strength shtampovannyh and welded structures and components operating in corrosive environments; solid-rolled rings for different purposes; welding wire.

Note

Steel corrosion-resistant martensitic class.
The recommended maximum operating temperature for a very long time +650 °C. the Temperature of beginning of intensive scaling in air +850 °C.
The best corrosion resistance was found after quenching, low tempering (up to +400 °C).

Technological properties

Name The value
Macrostructure and pollution Macrostructure of steel shall be no traces of shrinkage, delamination, foreign inclusions.
Features of heat treatment To obtain characteristic values of mechanical properties and hardness set ST CKBA 010 and to achieve maximum corrosion resistance, parts (workpiece) valves shall be subjected to hardening and tempering. The heating of the parts (workpieces) in the temperature range from 500 °C to 800 °C must be carried out at a speed of not more than 200 °C per hour. In the temperature range 750 - 800 °C it is necessary to give exposure to the full heating of the charge. Further heating to the quenching temperature produced by the furnace. For parts with thickness (diameter) up to 120 mm the rate of heating is not limited and aging at a temperature of from 750 °C to 800 °C is not possible. Welded components and steel products 09KH16N4B for improving the corrosion resistance is subjected to annealing regime: heating up to 600-620 °C, exposure - 1,5-2,0 h, air cooling.
Machinability To improve the machinability and the hardness HB ≤ 285 workpiece is subjected to annealing at 600-630 °C for 4-8 h, cooled with the furnace to 300 °C, then in air. Also applied two-stage annealing: step 1 690-710 °C (exposure 8 h), 2 tier 570-590 (exposure 8 h), cooled with the furnace to 300 °C, then on air.
