Color of tungsten electrodes
Technical characteristic
According to EN 26848, all tungsten electrodes must have an alphanumeric designation. All of them are also identified by a color. The first letter W stands for tungsten, the second letter for the oxide of the chemical element in the composition.
Numerical marking
For example, 20 indicates that there is an alloying oxide of 2% in the composition of the electrode. Sometimes another number is given after the percentage of additives. It means the length of the tungsten electrode (in mm). The standard lengths of the electrodes are 50, 75, 150 and 175 mm.
