Sheets of chromium-nickel heat-resistant special steel with additions of titanium and tungsten of ХН60ВТ grade are used for the manufacture of sheet parts for turbojet engines. Such parts are operated at t° 1000 -1100°C. The strength characteristics of sheet CHN60VT (sometimes such an alloy designated as VZH98, EI868, CHN60VT-SH or CHN60VT-VD) regulates GOST 5632-72. Foreign analogue of this alloy is called Inconel 601 (Pyromet 601, Nicrofer 601).

Production

Alloy CrN60VT is melted in open electric furnaces using plasma-arc remelting technology. They are notable for their strength and are easily deformable. Domestic enterprises produce sheets with thickness of 0.8-5 mm. Hot-rolled sheets are produced in the temperature range of 1180 - 1050 °C. Hardening is carried out in air or in water. All kinds of welding can be used to weld individual parts, units and other elements made of this alloy.

Basic qualities

The main advantage of these sheets is their tensile strength. It is 195 MPa at 650 °C, but falls to 8 MPa above 1000 °C. For t° 20-25 °C, the ultimate tensile strength of a sheet of CrN60VT is 750 MPa. At the same time, the relative elongation at break does not exceed 7%. The coefficient of linear expansion at 100 °C remains in the range 12 - 13 1/Grad. Heat capacity is relatively high at 29.6 W/(m-grad). The density depends on the percentage of nickel and varies under normal conditions from 8.7 g/cm³ to 8.95 g/cm³. The corrosion resistance of the material is due to the addition of aluminum in the alloy.

Applications

CrN60VT sheets are effectively used at high temperatures, high humidity, exposure to chemical environments of acids or alkalis. Such sheets are in demand not only for parts of internal combustion engines, but also in space development, nuclear industry and metallurgy. It is used in the construction of thermal furnaces, gas and petrochemical equipment, i. e. in all areas where high heat resistance, heat resistance and low oxidation properties of material are required.

Supplies

All these advantages, ease of processing predetermine the high demand for sheets made of chromium-nickel alloys in the market. However, the cost of such materials varies from 3300 to 3700 rubles per kilogram. The high price is due to the cost of the main alloying component - nickel.
