Marking of nickel alloys

Characteristics

The alloy designation is an alphanumeric abbreviation. The letter H indicates that the alloy belongs to the nickel alloy. Subsequent letters indicate the elements contained in the alloy: G - iron, M - copper, Mz - manganese, Z - zinc. The content in percentage indicates the numbers following the letters. For example, the alloy Manganese NMMc85 - 12 contains about 85% copper, 12% - manganese, the remainder - nickel. If the alloying element content does not exceed 1%, it is usually not reflected in the marking. The most popular heat-resistant nickel alloys - nichromes are marked X15N60, X20N80.

Wire

Wire, which is designed for the production of heating elements, is designated by the letter "H"; resistance elements - by the letter "C"; for the manufacture of tubular electric heaters - TEN. Wire diameter can vary from 0,1 to 10 mm.
