1. Range

1.1 The wire dimensions and their limiting deviations shall meet the following requirements/

Notes
  • Titanium welding wire of BT2, SPT-2 and BT6 alloys is produced with a diameter of at least 1.6 mm. Wire of BT20-1 and BT20-2 alloys is produced with the diameter of at least 2,0 mm.
  • Wire of other sizes not specified in the table may be manufactured by agreement of the parties.
1.2 The ovality of wire shall not take its dimensions beyond the diameter tolerance limits.
1.3An example of the symbol of a welding wire with a diameter of 4.0 mm made of titanium alloy grade BT1-00:

1.4 Alloy grade and wire diameter are specified in the purchase order. 2.

2 Technical requirements
2.1 Wire is delivered in etched and degassed state with clean, light metallic surface without under color or etching.
By agreement of the parties the bars are supplied in annealed condition.
2.2 Chemical composition of BT1-00, OT4-1 and OT4 alloys must meet the requirements of CT1 90013-71, at that oxygen content in BT1-00 alloy must not exceed 0,12%, and hydrogen content in OT4-1 and OT4 alloys - 0,006%.
The chemical composition of BT2, BT6, SPT-2, BT20-1 and BT20-2 alloys shall meet the following requirements obv requirements/.

traces of water runoff are allowed on the surface of wires of all alloy grades.
On the surface of the wire of alloys of BT2, BT6 grades, SPT-2, BT20-1 grade and BT20-2 grade, runny colors, small pressures with dark etchings, risks and rolls are admitted.
2.5Surface defects can be corrected and cleaned before wire degassing. After degassing, only local single contaminants may be cleaned.
