Sequence of pressing operations of aluminum rod
For highly plastic aluminum alloys (for example, AD0 or A00) deformation is performed in a cold state. Aluminum wire rod of round or square cross-section is cleaned of surface contaminants and oxide films, is abundantly lubricated, and fed into the molding matrix. There, it is picked up by a press-stamp, which pushes it first into the container, and then, when the technological pressing force increases, into a matrix whose cross-section corresponds to the cross-section of the final rod. The direction of the outflow, as indicated earlier, is determined by the method of pressing.

After the end of the pressing cycle, the aluminum rod is fed to the straightening press, where a defect such as the bending of the bar axis is removed because of the presence of residual stresses in the metal. After straightening, the size and subsequent felling of the bar should be cut.
In the hot pressing process, before the deformation begins, the billet is heated in special electric feedthroughs. The heating temperature depends on the grade of the aluminum alloy. All other operations of the process are identical to cold pressing.
