Production of pulp is a complicated process that uses aggressive technological environment, therefore, from the technical and economic point of view, it is reasonable to replace the current equipment with titanium one. At the shops where cooking acid is produced, sulfite pulp is prepared, bleaching solutions are prepared and pulp mass is bleached, the equipment requires corrosion protection. More recently, protection with ceramic tiles on lead-glycerine putty and acid-proof tiles on silicate putty were used everywhere. The All-Union Titanium Research Institute and well-known industry factories have investigated the corrosion resistance of titanium alloys in aggressive media in the pulp and paper industry and recommended them for the widest application.
