Tu 48-19-250-86. Molybdenum and its alloys by vacuum-arc melting, ground. Technical conditions.

Specifications Tu 48-19-250-86

1.1 Blanks of molybdenum and its alloys, ground must comply with the requirements of these technical specifications.
1.2 Molybdenum billets are divided according to the method of obtaining the initial billet:

  • MCHVP - vacuum-melted ingots obtained by melting powder of MCH grade with the use of carbon as a deoxidizer;
  • TSM-2A - vacuum-melted ingots produced by melting MShV powder with zirconium and titanium as alloying elements;
  • MR-47 - vacuum-melting molybdenum ingots, obtained with the use of rhenium as an alloying element.
1.3 Nominal strip sizes.
Grade Diameter, mm Limit deviation of diameter Length, mm
МЧВП 0.8 to 5.0 in 0.1 -0,10 500-1000

from 5,0 to 6,0 in 0,2 -0,20 --- "---
from 6.0 to 8.0 in 0.5 -0,30 --- "---
CM-2A from 8.0 to 13 in 1.0 -0,40 --- "---

Notes:
  • 15% of the batch weight of billets of MCHVP and CM-2A grades may be billets with diameters from 0.8 to 8.0 mm.
    • Blanks of intermediate nominal diameters with diameter tolerances equal to the nearest larger one may be produced;
    • blanks with length from 30 mm and more with length tolerance ±2,0 mm can be supplied;
    • billets with diameter of 2,5 mm and less with maximum deviation by diameter of ±0,03 mm from 30 to 65 mm can be delivered.
  • For MR-47 ingots, the length and length limit deviations may be specified by agreement with the manufacturer.

1.5 The mass fraction of aluminum, iron, calcium and magnesium impurities may be increased for VXDG ingots, while the sums of the mass fraction of aluminum + iron, calcium + magnesium remain the same.

1.6 Deviation from the straightness of billets must not exceed 0.5% of the length. For blanks with a diameter of 2,5 mm or less with a limit deviation from the diameter of ± 0,03 mm deviation from the straightness should not exceed 0,1% of the length.
1.7 The surface must be free of traces of graphite grease, oxides, burrs, longitudinal strokes, films, transverse ribs and cracks.
Transverse grinding strokes that do not withdraw the dimensions of blanks beyond the allowable deviations in diameter, on the ends - the traces of oxidation, chipping, burrs are not a rejection feature.
1.8 Billets must not have internal delamination and cracks.
1.9 Surface roughness parameter must not be more than 1,25 µm GOST 2789-73.
