Alloys with a specified temperature coefficient of linear expansion (TKLR)

General characteristics

Alloys with a given TKHR - thermal coefficient of linear expansion - are melted in an open induction furnace by electroslag remelting. They are divided into three groups according to their properties. Each group has a specified TLR value within a certain range of operating temperatures. Most of these alloys are ferromagnets. But some alloys with a given TLR do not have magnetic properties.

Classification

Alloys with a given TCLP have the ability to maintain their linear dimensions over a certain temperature range. The first group of alloys has a minimum TKHR value. The second group has ferromagnetic alloys with low or medium TKHR values. The third group includes non-magnetic alloys.

Application of

- Instrument engineering.

- Precision machine tool industry.

- Laser technology.

- Cryogenic engineering.

- Nanotechnology.

- Measuring and metrological technique.
