Composition

Circle, rod and wire of stainless heat-resistant grade 20X13 have high strength corrosion resistance, ductility. They are produced in accordance with GOST 5632- - - - - - 72. The composition of 12-14% of chromium, 0,6% of manganese, nickel and silicon, 0,16 - 0,25% of carbon, thousands of percent of phosphorus and sulfur. The remainder is iron.

Properties

It is a martensitic steel and its melting point is 1320-1350°C. Plasticity and heat resistance allow the use of bars at t° 550 °C for parts subject to vibration and shock loads. They also withstand short-term heating up to 700 °C. bars, wires are resistant to soil and atmospheric moisture, organic acids, weak nitric acid solutions. Wire and rod are produced in round, square cross-section.

Processing

Hot deformation is carried out at 1100 - 900 °C with cooling in air. At 750 - 800 °C softening annealing is carried out with holding in the furnace at 500 °C. For hardening requires heating to 950 - 1000 °C with cooling in oil. Welding is carried out by electric arc and argon-arc manual or automatic method. If bar thickness is more than 10 mm, preheating to 250-400 °C and final heat treatment to remove residual stresses is desirable.
