Evek GmbH offers to buy stainless steel sheets and strips (1.4113) AISI 436. Advantageous prices, a wide range of thicknesses, lengths and widths of rolled products, as well as the ability of Evek GmbH to always ensure prompt delivery of the purchased batch - the undoubted benefits of this offer.

Composition and properties

AISI 436 (1.4113) mild steel of ferrite class is highly resistant to corrosion phenomena at elevated up to 450 ...5000 C ambient temperature. Such a set of properties is ensured by a sufficient percentage of chromium, as well as the presence of titanium and molybdenum in the steel. According to Euro standard EN 10088-2, the steel contains the following chemical elements:

Alloying element C Cr Mo Ni Mo Ti Fe
Percentage content Up to 0,02...0,025 16...18 0,8...1,4 Up to 0.02 Up to 1.0 Up to 1.0 The rest

The unification of components in the composition of the steel in the standards of Europe and North America is quite high. On the basic positions they coincide, differing requirements for limitation of carbon (standards ASTM provide no more than 0.02%С). Also there is no possibility of free nitrogen in the structure of steel AISI 436 (1.4113), and the presence of manganese must not exceed 0.6%. These changes are due to the need to increase the plastic characteristics of the finished rolled steel.

Rolled sheets after production give the steel such physical and mechanical parameters: ultimate tensile strength - 470...490 MPa, ultimate ductility - 310...355 MPa, elongation - at least 34%. Rolled sheets of this steel should have Brinell hardness not more than 76...78 N. B. Larger values of the above indicators correspond to the conditions of cold rolling.

The main physical and mechanical property of steel is resistance to pitting corrosion, which can be caused by corrosive effects of chemically active compounds of chlorine, bromine and other halogens. The steel is resistant to aqueous vapours containing acids and alkalis and is chemically neutral to gases at elevated temperatures of between 150 and2000°C. The presence of chromium ensures the occurrence of hard nitrides in the surface layers of steel, which increases the wear resistance of the parts of industrial equipment that are exploited in the range of external temperatures of 600...6500 С.

The closest analogue of AISI 436 (1.4113) steel is 12X17M low-carbon stainless steel. At the same time it doesn't have titanium in its composition, and upper limit of carbon content in accordance with GOST 5632 is 0.10...0.12% that reduces plasticity properties of the material. The European analogue of this steel is steel grade X6 CrMo 17-1, which differs from the considered steel only with 0.2% lower percentage of molybdenum.

Application of

On the basis of its strength properties, AISI 436 (1.4113) steel sheets can be used for critical components in metallurgical works and equipment that are subjected to constant exposure to gases released during the operation of metallurgical plants. The good mechanical properties of the steel enable it to be formed on presses and automatic lines with shallow drawing, punching and bending operations. For more complex product configurations the rolled sheets are annealed beforehand. From steel AISI 436 (1.4113) can also be made spatial metal by welding, as the presence of titanium, not only facilitates welding, but also prevents the occurrence of intergranular corrosion in the welded seam.

To buy stainless steel AISI 436 (1.4113) strip and sheet, using the proposal of Evek GmbH profitable and expedient. Sheet metal is supplied at manufacturer's prices, and the quality of each batch is carefully monitored.
