The new titanium production in Ukraine will begin work next week

In the near future in the Kirovograd region (Ukraine) will be put into operation a new mining and processing enterprise specializing in titanium extraction and processing of raw materials (ilmenite ores). As planned management of the company «Velta» who owns the rights to develop Birzulovskogo field workers completed the construction of GOK even before 2012 — its official opening will take place on 27 December.

Initial production volumes of titanium on the new plant is not too high: in the next year mine will be able to put on the market about 240 tons of titanium ore… But in the longer term, for approval by the General Director of the company «Velta» Andrew Brodsky, the company easily take on the global market share of two percent of production of ilmenite.

Demand for titanium and its derivatives is growing, increasing, and prices of raw materials. And in the coming years, according to market analysts nonferrous metals, the situation will worsen — currently operating in the field will be developed that will lead to a noticeable deficit of titanium resources. At the same territory of Ukraine is about 20% of world reserves of ilmenite ores. Therefore, the development of new deposits, construction of mining and processing enterprises titanium resources, beneficial for both the state and investors.
