Steel should correspond to the following in form, sizes, tolerances and surface condition

As to dimensions - GOST 2590-71, GOST 2591-71, GOST 5681-57, GOST 82-70, GOST 8239-72, GOST 8240-72, GOST 8509-72 and other standards for shaped sections;

surface - GOST 535-58 and GOST 500-58;

B - GOST 5781-61 and GOST 10884-71.

Steel is supplied without heat treatment or in heat-treated condition. In steel, intended for welded structures, weldability is guaranteed by the manufacturing technology and the chemical composition of steel.

Notes

1. At the request of the consumer for steels of group A the test of relative elongation on specimens of tenfold length is carried out. In this case, the standards of relative elongation specified in Table 3, reduced by 3% (abs).

2. The mechanical properties of steel grades 14KhGS and 18G2 of all thicknesses, grades 09G2 with a thickness of 21 - 32 mm and grade 10KhSND thickness over 15 mm refers to steel in heat-treated condition.

3. Steel of all grades which is tested for impact toughness at minus 70 °C is supplied in normalized or improved condition. Normalization or other type of heat treatment is also permitted in other cases for steel grades of group A.

4. The impact toughness of steel grades 09G2 and 15HSND 5 - 10 mm at minus 40 ° C should be at least 4 kgf m/cm2.

5. Shaped steel grades 09G2, 09G2S, 10HSND and 14G2 thickness of 11 mm and less can be delivered without heat treatment, with the impact toughness at minus 70 ° C should be at least 3 kgf m/cm2.

On request

Steel grades 14G, 19G, 18G2 and 14GSGS are delivered in sheets with thickness of 11 mm upon customer's request. Steel grade 17GS, delivered in heat-treated condition at a thickness of 11 - 20 mm, must have impact toughness at minus 40 °C not less than 4 kgf m/cm2... The impact toughness of steel is determined by the customer's request under the following conditions

  1. a) normal temperature (+20 °C) and one minus temperature;
  2. b) the normal temperature (+20 ° C) and after mechanical aging;
  3. c) one minus temperature and after mechanical aging;
  4. d) one of these temperatures (+20; -40 and -70 °С) or after mechanical aging.
