Corrosion resistance

According to the following specifications: 14-1-1154-74, 14-1-69 273, 14-1-1541-75, 14-1-240-72, 14-1-2144-77 alloy 03X17H14MZ when tested in boiling 65% nitric acid (density 1.41 g/cm3), made ofdistilled water and absolutely pure acid OSCh-1 1-3 according to GOST 11 125-73 must be resistant to intergranular corrosion. According to the above mentioned specifications, in addition to TU 14-1-2144-77, duration of tests is 3 cycles of 48 hours each on hardened samples.

Duration of tests according to TU 14-1-2144-77 is 5 cycles of 48 hours each. The rate of corrosion of the alloy must not be more than 0.5 mm/year. This steel 03Х17Н14МЗ according to GOST 5582-75 according to GOST 6032-89 must be resistant to intergranular corrosion. Application

In the manufacture of urea 03Cr17H14MZ alloy is used for lining synthesis columns and mixers, and in the manufacture of caprolactam - in the oxidation reactors cyclohexane. This alloy is used in the production of welded structures that operate in sulfuric acid environments, as well as in boiling 10% acetic and phosphoric acids.

Processing

Plastic hot deformation is carried out in the temperature range of 1150-900°C. This steel has high ductility. Hardening in water at 1080 ± 20°C is used for debinding after cold and hot plastic deformation.

Welding

Good weldability by all automatic and manual welding methods. In manual arc welding OZL-20 electrodes with 03X17H14M2 (or EP551) steel wire are used. During automatic welding in shielding gas or submerged arc welding wire of the same grade is used. The strength and corrosion resistance of welded joints in this case is not lower than the base metal. Welded seams of steel in urea synthesis medium are not susceptible to intergranular, knife corrosion and have a corrosion rate of 0.041-0.11 mm / year.
