Characteristics

Precision alloy grade 80NHS refers to the magnetically soft materials. It has low coercive force and very high magnetic permeability at saturation induction of 0.65-0.75 T in weak fields. After thermal treatment with delayed cooling starting from +600°С it acquires minimal deviation of characteristics in the climatic temperature range. It is applied for cores of compact transformers, relays and chokes which work in weak fields of magnetic screens; for manufacturing of contactless relays of small thickness (less than 0.02 mm) of magnetic amplifiers and cores of pulse transformers. The alloy has a high value of initial magnetic permeability, can be magnetized to saturation in weak fields due to the additions of cobalt and nickel.

Application

Magnetically soft alloy grade 80NHS is successfully used for magnetic cores of magnetic alternating field. Finds wide application in modern instrumentation in the manufacture of microphones, transformer cores, computer memory components, magnetic cores for operation in sea water, magnetic antennas. It is used in transformer construction, electric machine industry, radio engineering and electrotechnical industry, automation and telemechanics systems, measuring and computer engineering.

Production

Magnetic soft materials are produced from low-carbon steels based on ferromagnetic iron of special purity, electrotechnical low-coercive alloys on iron or iron-nickel base, powdered and composite ferromagnetics. These alloys are melted in special induction furnaces, after which the ingots are forged or rolled.
