Production and application

Steel 10Х17Н13М3Т (ЭИ432) is a highly alloyed alloy of austenitic class. Production is regulated by the following GOST: 18 143-72; 5632-72; 18 907-73; 5949-75; 7350-77; 25 054-81; 9940-81; 9941-81. Such steel is used in welded structures working in contact with acetic, phosphoric acids, as well as in other environments of increased aggressiveness. It is inert in solutions of 50% NaOH up to 100 °C, and is one of the basic materials for ethanolamine production apparatuses.

Corrosion resistance

GOST 18 143-72, 5582-75, 5949-75, 7350-77 provide for control of steel 10Х17Н13МЗТ resistance to intergranular corrosion by AM and AMU methods of GOST 6032-89 after annealing at t° 650 °C for 1 hour. Such steel has a corrosion rate of up to 0.1 mm/year in 10% formic acid up to 100 °C; 50% citric acid at tº boiling 5-25% H2S04 to 75 °C; 50% acetic acid to 100 °C and 80% to 80 °C; in 25% boiling H3P04 and 40% H3P04 at tº 100 °C. Mo reduces resistance to intergranular corrosion in oxidizing media. It gives steel type 17-13-2 (3) an increased resistance to pitting corrosion in chloride-containing media when compared to chromium-nickel grades type 18-10.

Process parameters

The optimum hot deformation temperature is 1200-850°C; for heats containing 5-ferrite, the temperature at the beginning of deformation is lowered. This steel allows a high degree of cold deformation.

Welding

It is well welded by gas-electric, manual, automatic and electric arc welding. For manual arc welding electrodes are used НЖ-13, НИАТ-1 and ЭА-400/10У; for automatic welding - wire Sv-06Х19Н10МЗТ and Sv-04Х19Н11 in combination with fluxes AN-26, ANF-6 and ANF-14.
