Alloy ХН40МДТЮ (ЭП543У)
From iron-steel ХН40МДТЮ produce centrifugal separators, centrifuges and similar chemical apparatus, which operates in a hostile environment. Made of elastic sensing elements (bellows, springs, membranes) that also operate in aggressive environments at elevated temperatures. The alloy is resistant to solutions of phosphoric and sulfuric acids, in gas condensate environments with high content of H2S and CO2. For alloy ХН40МДТЮ provided THAT the following: 14−1-1754−76; 14−1-3190−81; 14−1-3639−83; 14−1-4042−85; 14−1-1214−82; 14−1-3528−83; 14−1-3546−83.

Resistance to corrosion
Regardless of the mode of heat treatment and deformation, brand ХН40МДТЮ has a high resistance against General corrosion in 60% solutions of H2 SO4 to t° 80 °C. the corrosion rate of 20−30% solution of H2 SO4 to 2 mm over 10 years. In 70% solutions of H3 PO4 up to t° to 80 °C the corrosion rate of not greater than 0.5 mm in 10 years. The alloy is resistant against corrosion cracking in perchloric acid solutions at 90 °C containing 200 g/l NaCl + oxidizer; and in a boiling 42% solution of MgCl2 at voltages of 0.75 to 1.2 σт; 0,92 σв. The corrosion resistance test carried out for sample reinforced according to the following regime: aging at t° 650 °C (5 hours) with air cooling directly after hot deformation. In solutions of polyphosphoric acid of 100% concentration at elevated temperature (corrosion rate in the gas phase at 135 °C ≤ 0.007 mm. for 10 years; and in the liquid phase — 1.5 mm in 10 years; in 10% hydrofluoric acid at 70 °C the corrosion rate of 1.1 mm per 10 years. Alloy is produced equipment for gas-condensate fields with the content in natural gas of up to 6% H2S and 6% CO2. The corrosion rate in the hot distillate at 70 °C, which is saturated with H2S at a pressure of up to 1.7 N/mm2 ≤ 0,003 mm over 10 years.
The alloy has satisfactory workability in cold and hot deformation, and also during the cutting process. Hot deformation is carried out in a thermal interval 1160−950°C. If the ageing start immediately after hot deformation, after deformation t° must be less than t° recrystallization of the alloy, i.e., up to 920 °C. Heat treatment may be carried out on 3 schemes, dependent on the desired level of strength:
1) hot deformation + aging 600−50°C (5 hours) with air cooling;
2) annealing in air at a temperature 1060−1090°C + aging at a temperature of 650−50 °C with air cooling
3) soothing heat treatment: hardening in air or in water at a temperature 1060−1090°C.
Recommended method TIG with wire additive SV-04ХН40МДТЮ. Weld without hot cracking received only when the thickness of sheet to 6 mm. this requires pre-processing: deformation + low temperature aging (650°C). Contact seam welding of this steel with a thickness of 0.16−0.26 mm with alloys ХН40МДТЮ, ХН28МДТ, 18CR10NITI provides high-quality weld with high vacuum density.
