Production and use
Steel 08KH21N6M2T (ЭП54) is hromonikelevoj alloy austenitic-ferritic class. Production is regulated by the following GOST: 25 054−81; 5582−75; 5632−72; 5949−75; 7350−77; and also THAT: 14−1-894−74 and 14−3-59−72. It is used in the manufacture of distillation columns, Packed extraction, purge and other containers, tanks, vaults, etc. This steel is successfully operating in redox environments of acid production, organic synthesis, pulp and paper industry. It is used in the manufacture of acetic acid, melamine, sulfuric acid (92% H2SO4 + up to 7% SO2 at 50−60°C), caprolactam, urea, phosphoric acid (80% H3P04 at 100°C). Also it is used when receiving ammonium chloride (evaporation), sulfite and Kraft pulp (filtration equipment) and of ammonium sulfate mixed with sulfuric acid to 20 g/l, at 100−110°C.

According to the following GOST: 5582−75, 5949−75 and 7350−77, this steel resistant to intergranular corrosion, when tested by the method AM GOST 6032−89 (24 hours in the control solution). Tested samples after heat treatment specified in GOST, but also after provocative heating to 500ºС (1 hour) with air cooling. Steel such as alloy Х17Н13М2Т has 1 point of resistance in 98% acetate, 50% lemon and 20% formic acid at t º boiling point; in 90% formic acid at 40 °C; H3P04 in different concentrations in concentrated H2SO4 and is characterized by high resistance to stress corrosion cracking in MgCl2 solution.
Hot deformation is carried out at 1150−850°C. the Steel is bent, punched, hot and cold conditions, its adaptability is the same as 10X17H13M2T. Quenched in water from 1050 °C; the same treatment is used for removing the work hardening after cold and hot deformation.
Manual and automatic TIG and arc welding uses electrodes made of alloy 06Х21Н6М2Т coated anv-17, and the electrodes of SV-04Х19Н11МЗ coated SSSI-13. Welds analogous to welds 10KH18N10T have the mechanical strength of the base metal resistant to intergranular corrosion and do not require heat treatment.
