12Х15Г9НД.

This is a chromium-manganese stainless steel with low nickel content. It contains 14-16.5% Cr and up to 0.14% carbon. The alloy is alloyed with manganese 8,5-10,5%, copper 2%, nickel 1-1,5%, silicon 0,75%, thousandths of sulfur and phosphorus. The rest is iron.

High-strength stainless steel grade 12Х15Г9НД has lower content of nickel that makes it more stable in the environments containing sulfur. This steel is recommended as a material for wide products operating in slightly aggressive environments and in the open air.

Processing

The metal lends itself to forging and upsetting with ease. Parts are cooled in air. Metal has high strength and ductility when machined in the cold state. It withstands the bend test corresponding to GOST 14 019-2003. The steel hardens and deforms like steel 12X18H10T during cold working.

Weldability .

The argon-arc welding with semi-automatic wire 08Х20Н9Г7Т, 08Х21Н10Г6 under flux AN-48, using welding electrodes NII-48G, GS-1, DS-12. Welded seams are resistant to intergranular corrosion.

Properties

High resistance to oxidation, ductility, easy deformation, the possibility of deep drawing, good weldability - allows the use of steel in the same equipment as the chromium-nickel austenitic grades.
