Advantages

Circle grade CHN32T is designed to operate at t ° 700 - 850 ° C in an aggressive environment of reducing, oxidizing and nitriding atmospheres, in a carburizing environment. The oxidation rate in calm air at 800 ° C = 0.03 mm / year. High chemical resistance is due to the formation of a very persistent oxide film on the surface. The strength and corrosion resistance of the alloy is given by chromium and nickel. The latter serves as a kind of solvent in which other metals dissolve. Titanium increases strength and heat resistance. It also gives ductility and malleability. KhN32T melts at 1400 °C and is more heat-resistant than chromium.

Technological qualities

Specific weight at 20 ° C = 8.16 g/cm3. By comparison, it weighs 7.8 g/cm³ for normal construction steel. Tensile strength (tensile strength) under normal conditions for the bar = 480 MPa. At t° 600 °C drops to 300 MPa. Circle of stainless steel alloy CrN32T has good indicators of fatigue strength at t ° above 700 ° C. This means that when heated it is well tolerated vibration, without breaking. Alloy does not have pronounced magnetic properties, does not form scale up to t ° 1000 ° C, cold-resistant. It is hardenable by pressure treatment. It is ductile and malleable and lends itself well to hot and cold work by pressure. It can be welded with all known welding methods: with non-consumable or consumable electrode, plasma arc welding, submerged-arc welding and shielding gas. A multicomponent mixture Ar2+He2+H2+CO2 is used as such a medium. Good weldability allows to make structures without special technological equipment. Finished structures do not require additional heat treatment after welding.

Disadvantages

Circle CrN32T is unstable in an atmosphere of sulfur compounds, has a high cost of production. Nickel and titanium in the composition make the material more expensive, but at the same time more reliable. Therefore, the price of such a circle should hardly be considered overpriced. Since the alloy is prone to the formation of hardening, it should be annealed before pressure treatment. Abrasive tools of increased hardness are used for grinding and polishing. The tendency to hardening should also be taken into account when machining. Carbide tools should be used for cutting at low speed and continuously. Sufficient cutting depth must be provided to ensure that the tool cuts through the previously formed hardened area.
