Composition and properties
Austenitic weakly magnetic stainless steel AISI 317 LMn differs from the closest analogues with high content of manganese, which provides increased mechanical strength from the products produced from it. In the USA, the 317 LMn alloy is manufactured according to ASTM / ASME standards UNS S31726, and in Europe — according to DIN standards.
The distinctive operational properties of steel are:

Areas of use
The alloy AISI 317 LMn (1.4439) is well suited for hot sheet metal stamping, and the optimum temperature of the billet heating should not exceed 450… 500 0 С. In this condition, when deforming on falling hammers from a given steel, it is possible to obtain various thin-walled parts such as bodies of revolution, Bending. Separating operations can also be performed in the cold state. When welding, steel slightly increases its magnetic properties.
Considering the high corrosion resistance properties, it is recommended that AISI 317 LMn (1.4439) steel receive critical parts of the bodies of the mechanisms of the food, chemical and oil and gas industries that operate under conditions of increased mechanical stress.
