Permendur-2v (or HiperCo 50A — for foreign classification) is a magnetically soft alloy whose composition and properties are regulated by GOST 10994. Used in electrical equipment, which operates under conditions of high magnetic flux densities.
Composition and characteristics
The main constituents of the alloy are chemically pure iron (47… 50%) and cobalt (48… 49%). The rest is in vanadium (not more than 1.9%) and inevitable in the melting of impurities — silicon and manganese. Permendur-2v is produced by vacuum-arc melting.
The main characteristic of the alloy is its high magnetostriction — the ability to change the shape and size when changing the intensity of the magnetic flux. Therefore, it is advantageous from Permendur to manufacture such parts of magnetic systems as coils, pole pieces and cores of powerful magnets.
Features of practical use of the alloy 49KF are:
Average machinability. In particular, the machining is carried out at lower rotational speeds and feeds of the working tool, and the stamping of permendur is performed only in a hot state;
The hardness, which decreases when heated from 94HRB at 8430C, to 82HRB at 9250C, above this temperature, the alloy loses its magnetic properties;
Specific modes of heat treatment. It is conducted at temperatures of 885 ± 150С in furnaces with a non-oxidizing atmosphere and in the absence of carburizers. Cooling after heating is carried out in the oven, and after 3700С — in calm air.
Conditions of production and supply
The prevailing assortment of making the alloy 49KF by other manufacturers is hot-rolled bars with a diameter of 12 mm. Electrovek Steel Company offers:
Delivery of permendur-2v in the form of drawn wire;
Improved homogeneity of the microstructure and alloy properties;
Operative execution of the order regardless of its volume.
Wire made of permendure 49KF alloy is produced in the following nomenclature of dimensions, mm: 1,6; 1.7; 1.8; 2.05; 2.15; 2.20. By special order it is possible to supply wire with a diameter of up to 5 mm with maximum deviations js10 and js11 in accordance with GOST 2771 .
The cost of wire from the alloy 49KF from the manufacturer Electrovek-steel is available and beneficial to consumers. For a worthy price they will receive guaranteed high-quality products, which can be used in the manufacture of small electric motors, measuring equipment and other devices that require the achievement of the greatest values of magnetic induction with minimal power losses caused by eddy currents.
