General Characteristics

Filter woven mesh (galunky weave) has no visible cells visible to the light. Such a mesh is called "zero" and is made by intertwining the weft and warp yarns in a certain order. Filter wire meshes are made of high-alloy steel wire of 12Х18Н9Т, 12Х18Н10Т, 10Х17Н13М2Т etc. according to State Standard (GOST) 3187-76 and TU. On request such meshes are produced from such steel grades as T, TV, St. 1, 12Х18Н9, 08Х18Н10, 10Х17Н13М3Т or from wire with protective coating. At weaving woven filter mesh warp wires, located at a distance from each other, are interwoven with weft wires, located closely to each other. The meshes are not visible to the light. Filter screens may have the following types of weave (twill - C, plain - P), and differ in the number of weaves per unit area, as well as the diameter of the wires. Mesh is used for air and gas purification, separation, centrifugation, drying solutions and water filtration.

Production

The most popular weaving methods of filter meshes are as follows:

- At plain weave weave warp and weft wires are intertwined alternately;

- At single-sided twill weaving warp wires are intertwined through 2 weft wires;

- In double-sided twill weaving warp wires are intertwined through 1 and then through 2 filling wires.

With any method of weaving a filter mesh weft wire always fit tightly one to another. GOST 3187-76 allows a distance between them of not more than 10% of wire diameter. The warp wires have gaps between them of less than 1 mm. In addition to the type of weave, filter mesh is characterized by the number of wires per length unit and wire thickness. Filter woven mesh is made of steel wires which comply with TU 14-4-1571-89. Filter mesh, increased density meet TU 14-178-311-98.

Quality

The most stringent requirements to the quality of production are specified for meshes designed for ultra-fine filtration of materials, when the strictest control of parameters of sifted particles is required. The second category of meshes is used both for screening materials, and in the air cleaning system, for reinforcement of thermal insulation.

Use
